Information Management to Maximize Your Yields

Fungicide and Insecticide Application

The timing to spray fungicides on soybeans if R3 up to R5 stage. Most soybean diseases favor warm humid conditions, unlike those we have experienced lately across the state. With the cooler temperatures, disease pressure has not been an issue in soybeans this year, but they do have an added benefit for plant health that needs to be considered.

They reduce the production of toxic ethylene in beans that increase during periods of stress, this yield increasing benefit may be something to consider while deciding  whether to use fungicide. Insecticide use may be something to wait on due to low insect pressure this year.

Many corn acres have had fungicide applied over the past week.
